Couple Disclaimers!
This sucks, I know, and yes I can’t Write:
With that said, here it goes.
I am also aware of the sophmorish attempt this is, and how I made quite a few mistakes, and ask that you be constructively critical in what you reply, as this is my first attempt: oh and if there are chunks you do like, kep em, just give me some credit, like “written by *&&^% with portions by Empress Shai” or something. again, I know I suck and need skills or something, which are training for writing as we speak
The depth of EVE:
Musings and rants…
I have been playing eve on and off for a few years now. Since 2003 to be exact.
It started back in the day simply as my first MMO. I saw the retail box and simply fell in love.
It wasn’t till my rage quit of loosing my 3rd battleship (an Armageddon, to be exact) that I started to rethink my stay in New Eden. I then went to Galaxies, and after the NGE defunct release, I went there to Guildwars, PlanetSide, a brief pass through the Matrix Online, and then settled in to WoW. For the time of my stay, I thought I was contented, killing dragons, healing people, and generally killing all the Alliance gnomes in range.
I hated WoW eventually. Where else could you beg others to help you with gear, grind hours on end working your way to irreversible bitter carpel tunneled crippling anti social dark corners? Where else do you get some one who, because they didn’t win the roll on the item they wanted, qq-quit the group and ran off to their “guild nax run”? Where else could you leave corpses for others to skin as a courtesy, just to have a N.elf come up and sap you and steal your kills? Where else… etc etc…
SO on the list went, and on and on the useless grind went, like a football game with no one keeping score. Yes you keep what you kill, but no one looses anything. The anger the person on the other end feels to being singled out in a BG is short lived. Arenas get nerfed, and guild mates bitterly brake up when they don’t feel like they can use you to get what they want.
Enter EVE. The end of the game is there is no end, and the game is too dynamic to rule them all. You can start out fresh, specialize your role, from tackling to trade, and dominate very well in whatever you do, if you have the resolve.
You will seriously enjoy killing another person who flames you in their native tongue in local, knowing that what you did was legal, and they can’t do anything about it. You can hunt your enemy in frigates to Titans, lock down a person so they cannot shoot you or warp away all the while begging you to not kill their ship. You will have macro miners, mission grinders, salvage stealers and more to harass, if it is with in you to be such a person. After all, it’s your monthly payment, and you can be whoever you choose to be. You can hug gates, mine ore, scam people, steal wrecks, or even hunt pirates. You can be a drug trafficker or simply haul fuel for others at top ISK. The path is not as simple as kill A to receive B so you can kill A to receive B. You can become whatever you will, showing the world the measure of your resolve.
Hunt me, kill me, scam me, or catch me, I am waiting, and I am ready…
I like it. We’re very short on article-esque pieces at the moment, and this is a pretty good one.
When you get the time, register with the blog (down under the “meta” heading) and I’ll grant you the contributor role, allowing you to draft your own material, and publish after its approved by an administrator.
Looking forward to hearing more from you.
Greetings,
Thank you for Ore Calculator 1.1. I’m headed for Refining 5 and looking forward to Refining Efficiency.
Take Care,

First, thank you very much for this excellent web site. I am new to Eve and really appreciate all of the information you have posted here.
One of the reasons I love Eve is the ability to explore. Unfortunately I see very few people talking about exploration and the use of scanners, probes, etc. Could you please write a future article on these topics or recommend any existing sources of information?

We should have some exploration guides up within the next couple days, just starting to dabble in that myself, so I’ll be sure to get a tutorial up.
Thanks for reading
